If I tell you...People seem to be missing the point. If I tell you that you can't draw a square circle, I'm not saying that you're not allowed. I'm saying it can't be done. If you draw a square, it won't have curves. If you draw a circle, it won't have corners. The point of the post seems to be that picking one of story or emulation necessarily involves sacrificing the other, whether you want to or not.

And if you have fun drawing shapes that are neither circles nor squares, then draw those shapes, but don't call them circles or squares.L Mhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17728075457955572017noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2600947515654238699.post-12467994166536287332016-07-27T04:33:45.458-04:002016-07-27T04:33:45.458-04:00Odd that the words 'should not be allowed'...Odd that the words 'should not be allowed' make it into a post about a hobby. False dichotomy. I couldn't agree with Kevin more. Is it fun? If the answer for you is "no" then go find another group. No need to create these "rules" about whether a game can be about the mechanics and the story...Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14435655280816656649noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2600947515654238699.post-19508447027276248652016-07-26T03:17:35.994-04:002016-07-26T03:17:35.994-04:00I think you need to let it go.
I don't think...I think you need to let it go.
I don't think any normal role player gives a shit. To me and most of the people I play with its all about fun, story and immersion come with the fun. If its isn't fun then I may as well start reading Penguin classics. :-)Flynnkdhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11478924902458737743noreply@blogger.com
