I think it's absolutely necessary. Racial equality, gender equality, sexual equality, all these things, all the social change, is directly the product of social justice.
That it gets abused by some assholes, in the same way that "patriotism" gets abused by assholes, or that "values" get abused by assholes, or any number of other terms, does not make it bad.

The advance of social justice, crucially, depends on upholding the rights of the individual.RPGPundithttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17267330191433119298noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2600947515654238699.post-80988208813930140332014-08-04T00:44:35.259-04:002014-08-04T00:44:35.259-04:00Which is why he said social change as well. Socia...Which is why he said social change as well. Social change = good. Social justice = bad. Why is social change good? People get more rights and are treated equally. Why is social justice bad? You get assholes that try to censor you and use "protecting the weak".Snowman0147https://www.blogger.com/profile/04811245101715889991noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2600947515654238699.post-9721868570704177962014-08-02T15:52:35.809-04:002014-08-02T15:52:35.809-04:00It's interesting that a similar situation is o...It's interesting that a similar situation is occurring in SF; Eric Raymond's take is worth a read if you have the time: http://esr.ibiblio.org/?p=6085
Lens Larquehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01912159444988857067noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2600947515654238699.post-46002230425554044562014-07-31T20:56:41.529-04:002014-07-31T20:56:41.529-04:00It's exactly like owning minorities. It's socialism. And the kind of socialism where they take all your stuff and use it for themselves.

Scott Andersonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12067161332003628237noreply@blogger.com
