They did it in a way that was not storygamey at all.

RPGPundithttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17267330191433119298noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2600947515654238699.post-29015298447143718342016-02-05T07:59:32.672-03:002016-02-05T07:59:32.672-03:00Actually, the Aspect mechanics the game uses are r...Actually, the Aspect mechanics the game uses are really light compared to Fate: You just can use Destiny to get a +3 if you invoke an Aspect (using a Destiny without an Aspect gives you a +1 only), and you get Destiny by invoking an aspect in a negative way.
But there is nothing more. This is actually the only new school mechanic the game has. And it does not affect combat maneouvers and the like the way it does in Fate. The combat is actually quite detailed and tactical, nothing like a Fate combat.

And also, as a side note, the game works perfectly if you decide not to use the Aspects. Just make that every Destiny point spent gives a +3, not the +1 they usually give when used without an Aspect invoke. And that's that. In terms of game balance is the +3 that is important to the game, not the fact that it comes from an Aspect mechanic or not. ;)zonk/PJhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01801962564013742447noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2600947515654238699.post-38660435797954779542016-02-05T06:51:51.830-03:002016-02-05T06:51:51.830-03:00Would be more interesting if it weren't for Fa...Would be more interesting if it weren't for Fate aspects -.-#Teylenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00928739532408492514noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2600947515654238699.post-84492343405790479322016-02-05T04:37:31.822-03:002016-02-05T04:37:31.822-03:00One important thing about Walküre is that it uses ...One important thing about Walküre is that it uses a Creative Commons CC by SA license. You can download the game PDF freely from the offical web, at www.walkure.es

Actually, there're two supplements published: Mondblindheit and Kreuzfeuer. And a GM screen. There are plans to keep expanding the game, that will eventually have, amongst other things, both a mecha combat game (Mechwaffe) and a supplement fully dedicated to the Nazi space station that lends its name to the game universe: Raumkampfstation Walküre.Steinkelhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12841768278621921800noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2600947515654238699.post-58479856162419865952016-02-04T20:35:08.540-03:002016-02-04T20:35:08.540-03:00remember riech star rpg?

It turned out to be one of my best impulse-buys ever, although Walküre is a bit crunchy for my taste and my limited mastery of the Spanish language makes it a bit uncomfortable for me to read.

But c'mon, Cold War in space with freaking Nazis (also, transhumanism) !
