What is the Path of Trees? It's a set of magic rules you can add on to your OSR or D&D campaign, derived from the Tree-magic of the ancient Celtic wizards, druids, elves, and witches. Learning the secret names and signs of different trees, a magic-user can perform a ritual to travel to the spirit-world of each tree, and (if they can traverse the dangers of each world) bring back power, knowledge, healing, or magic ingredients for creating wondrous enchanted objects. The masters of the art can even travel through the trees across great distances.
With straightforward rules immediately intuitive to any D&D players, The Path of Trees includes full descriptions of each of the 20 sacred trees, their secret names and rules, their qualities, and what PCs will find in their worlds, the dangers there, and the potential rewards.
This style of magic is both something that can provide a different sort of ritual-magic for your magic-using PCs AND also an adventuring opportunity, as the PCs with the wizard enter the spirit-world of trees to risk the danger there and get the treasures or knowledge they seek.
I promise, this is a style of magic that won't look like any that you already have in your OSR or D&D rules. At least, I've never seen anything resembling it. And as always, it's based on real historical practices.
So, if you want to add a twist of mythic-authentic magic to your game be sure to check out The Path of Trees on DTRPG, or on the Precis Intermedia Webstore. In either case this complete magic supplement is only $2.99!
