Uncracked Monday: The Best Revenge is Living Well... AND Revenge!

Really, I would say, why stop at just "living well"?  Yes, it's certainly a very important way to overcome and render null the actions of those who have wronged you, I'm not downplaying that important part.

But there's also something to be said for actual Revenge.  That combination of Revenge and Passion has fueled many of the great works of statecraft, art, science, engineering, music, and yes, the RPG Hobby.  So many amazing things have only come to exist because of Spite.

In the modern world's obsession with the Baby-Boomer meme of "niceness", we have forgotten just how significant something like revenge can be in terms of genius.

Clearly, Peter Capaldi hasn't.  He was refused the chance to be president of the Doctor Who Fan Club in the 1970s, when he was a teenager, and the BBC PR people apparently mocked him.   So he decided to avenge them all, and become Doctor Who.  And a truly great, grumpy, and spiteful doctor he is!

  1. Wow. I had no idea. Sometimes the first shall be last and the last shall be first.

Good for him! I haven't been following the new Who that much, but I should. Hope he makes a great Doctor.

    1. Yeah, and I thought nothing could beat the David Tennant teenager story.

    2. I don't know, the fact that David Tennant(11) married Georgia Moffett, who is Peter Davidson's (5) daughter... and that she played Jennie (the Doctor's daughter); she IS the Doctor's daughter...and she and David Tennant have a daughter....

I'd like for them to focus some episodes on the Docotr and not on his utterly terrible current companion Clara. I mean, she's not Mel or Adric bad, but she's at least as obnoxious as Nyssa or Peri.

    3. It appears that Clara will be leaving the series; though that might be ruse.

Anyways, that wasn't the story I was referring to, though that's also a good one. I was talking about something reported here (well, on the old blog) some years back, where there was a yearbook picture of a 14 year old David Tennant who had stated that his acting dream would be to get to play Doctor Who.
